UK SUBCONTRACT MACHINING SERVICES

England wide subcontract machining support

Large blanks | Billets | Rough machining | Heavy stock removal | Overflow capacity

Bates Manufacturing provides England wide subcontract machining support for manufacturers needing extra capacity on large components. Our focus is rough machining of large blanks and billets and removing heavy stock before later operations. Smaller detail machining can also be considered when it forms part of a suitable job. High performance alloy work is welcome for review; suitability depends on the exact grade, component drawing, available machine, access and agreed working arrangements.

WORK WE CAN DISCUSS

The work is centred on large components, blanks and billets that need rough machining or heavy stock removal. A subcontract package can be considered when your own capacity is constrained, a component needs an initial machining stage, or a defined operation needs support. Smaller detail machining can be included when it belongs to a suitable component or agreed job; this page is not a general small-parts production service. High-performance alloys can be considered. Please identify the exact material grade and condition so the job can be reviewed properly. Feasibility depends on component size and geometry, required stock removal, workholding, machine availability, access, tolerances, inspection needs and schedule. These points are checked against your drawing before a scope is agreed.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

A clear brief helps us assess fit and price the work accurately. We review the drawing or model revision, material grade and condition, component dimensions, quantity, required roughing operations, stock allowance, critical datums and tolerances, target dates and delivery location. We then discuss machine access, workholding, tooling or lifting arrangements where relevant, and what inspection or acceptance information is required. If work is proposed at your premises, the available machine, access and responsibilities must be confirmed. Scope, timing and practical arrangements are agreed before work begins.

ENGLAND WIDE SUPPORT

Bates Manufacturing supports companies throughout England and can travel to a customer site where the job and arrangements make that appropriate. On site machining is discussed case by case and, where agreed, uses the customer’s machinery. Machine suitability, access, workholding, safety arrangements, responsibilities and timing are confirmed with the customer before the work is accepted. The scope is planned around the customer’s available equipment and the requirements of the job.

REQUEST A QUOTE

To request a quote, email sales@batesmanufacturing.co.uk or use the Contact page. Please include your company and contact details, drawing or model revision, exact material grade and condition, component dimensions, quantity, required operations, critical tolerances, stock to remove or allowance to leave, target date and delivery postcode. Tell us about inspection or acceptance requirements, any finishing needs, and whether you are proposing work at your premises using your machinery. These details help us review the job and confirm whether it is suitable before agreeing price, scope and timing.

No obligation to proceed. All work is subject to reviewing the component, requirments and available capacity.
